Boxer Puppies – The Right Puppy For You?

Boxer puppies are very popular family pets because they are intelligent, friendly, playful, and loyal.  A boxer puppy is a low maintenance breed as well, with short hair that only requires a brief brushing about one a week.

When looking at boxers, the puppies for sale should have certain characteristics that show the quality of the breed and give clues to the overall health of the dog.  The muzzle should be broad and blunt, and the body should be square with a short back, strong limbs, and tight fitting skin.  In terms of personality, a boxer should never be shy or lacking in self confidence.  This dog breed lends itself to pride and alertness, as well as an outgoing personality.  The puppy should be bold and courageous, even if it is wary of strangers.

A boxer will be a playful companion for children, with a very stoic personality in regards to the nagging, poking, and prodding that children often present to a dog.  Boxers do require a bit of exercise, so having a yard for your puppy to play in can be important.  Dog training is not usually necessary for this breed, unless you have a special task in mind.  As a medium sized breed, boxers do not require any exorbitant amount of dog food, and dog supplies are easily found for them.

Boxers are very loyal and affectionate dogs with their families and owners.  They are disciplined dogs that typically do not have behavioral issues, making them great companions for all manner of owner, including small children and aging adults.

These dogs were originally bred as guards and certainly exert an attitude of courage, authority, and loyalty toward their family.  The only thing to avoid when choosing a puppy of the boxer breed is shyness or lack of alertness.
