Siberian Husky Puppies – Do They Make Good Pets?

If you are interested in a dog that is relatively free of breed-specific health issues, Siberian husky puppies might be the best choice for you.  A Siberian husky puppy will grow into a healthy dog with no specific health issues beyond the typical risk of hip dysplasia and eye problems that affect many large breeds.

Keep in mind that husky puppies may be hard to house train, and this breed tends to be mischievous.  They also do not like to be left alone, so you might consider purchasing a pair of puppies for sale.  Because they are happier together, huskies tend to live longer when they are not alone. 

Siberian huskies were bred for outdoor work and enjoy roaming, so having a large backyard and taking the time for frequent walks is an important part of the responsibility toward this dog breed.  Make sure you have a high fence, and bury wire at the bottom.  Huskies like to dig and will find a way out of the yard if possible to hunt.

Though huskies are very intelligent puppies and take well to dog training, they are also efficient and will only obey your commands if they see a point.  These dogs do not do as well in very warm environments, but they can make excellent jogging companions in milder conditions.

These puppies, though large, thrifty eaters and will not go through nearly as much dog food as you would expect.  Grooming is a breeze for this dog, as a husky’s coat requires little care.  However, when purchasing dog supplies, be sure to pick up a metal comb – twice yearly, huskies need a good brushing during peak shedding season.

Overall, a husky puppy will be very hearty and well bred to create a healthy line.  Life expectancy for this puppy can easily reach 12-15 years, if your dog is properly cared for and exercised.
